Successful TURAS Green Infrastructure workshop in Dublin: nature's technology for building resilience

TURAS, in collaboration with the UK based RESET and the Irish Landscape Institute, today hosted a one-day Green Infrastructure workshop in UCD. The two facilitators were Gary Grant (http://garygrant.me) and Dusty Gedge (http://www.dustygedge.co.uk/), who is also on the TURAS High Level Advisory Board. They are both the pioneering experts in the field of green roof technology and, more recently, water gardens. In the last decade their work and persistence has heavily influenced urban green roof policy in the UK and beyond. Participants were treated to a wide range of stunning GI ideas and examples from around Europe. Then, the group went outdoors in teams for a practical application case study using the UCD campus. This yielded some extremely useful ideas and lots of debate. We will be seeing a lot more of Gary and Dusty in the coming years.
