GUIDELINES FOR SUSTAINABLE URBAN FORESTRY OF ROMA CAPITALE

With the scope of correctly set the policies of urban arboreal heritage increase in the background of biodiversity protection and climate change mitigation, Roma Capitale in collaboration with ISPRA realized the “Guidelines for Sustainable Urban Forestry of Roma Capitale”.
This Guidelines aims to collect and organize the main technical approaches linked to the planning and realization of wooded areas, finalized to contrast climate change, to mitigate urban pollution (atmospheric and acoustic) and to increase biodiversity.
Final objective is to obtain a strong technical-scientific reference frame for the implementation and the assess of urban forestry policies, sustainable from an ecological, social and economic point of view. Furthermore, Guidelines represent a support for decision makers of local authorities regarding the planning and realization of new urban and periurban forests.
